Ellis County Master Gardeners Present
a Pop-Up Horticulture Event
on Saturday, April 8, 2017
Attention herb lovers, want to learn more about growing and using herbs? Then mark your calendar for Saturday, April 8 at Waxahachie’s Getzendaner Park. On that day, from 9 AM until noon, the Ellis County Master Gardener Association will be offering a hands-on seminar on “Culinary Herbs”.
This come-and-go event will be located in the Horticultural Learning Gardens at the park, and Master Gardeners Arlene Hamilton and Kathy Graves will be on hand to walk you through the culinary garden and answer questions about growing and using herbs. You will learn how to prepare a bed, plant seeds and seedlings, and when to harvest your herbs for optimum flavor. Small space? They will cover growing herbs in containers and discuss any special care needed. Shady spots? These Master Gardeners will have some helpful tips. There will also be informational handouts available, and maybe a few samples.
The Ellis County Master Gardeners’ Learning Gardens are located to the immediate left as you enter Getzendaner Park. Just look for the white “pop-up” tent.
The Ellis County Master Gardener Association is an educational, volunteer arm of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System. Working through the local AgriLife Extension office in Ellis County, members provide horticultural-related information to their communities
