Fourth generation Texan and retired Marine pilot, Delbert Bassett, certified as a Hays County Master Gardener in 1996. In his 22 years as a Master Gardener, Delbert has completed numerous Specialist Trainings including Vegetable Gardening, First Detector, and Rainwater Harvesting. He has been an active member of the Speakers Network, sharing his gardening knowledge all over the county. In addition to his contributions to the Hays County Master Gardener Association, Delbert serves as a docent at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and chairs the Horticulture Committee of the Hays County Historical Commission.
