Integrated Pest Management
and
Earthkind® Grape Trials in CBMGA
Tuesday Jan. 22 we will have a TAMU Extension agent Ms. Hurley who Specializes and teaches Continuing Education Units for Pesticides, Herbicides and fungicides for the State of Texas. She will be available from 5:30 till 7:30 PM. Remember that TAMU Extension Specialists have either a master’s or Doctorate covering all aspects of agriculture! She will be teaching “Integrated Pest Management or IPM”. If you have insects or disease issues, then bring them early Tuesday to the meeting so that we can share examples of the pest problems with the rest of the CBMG.
Second half of the program on Tuesday will have Dale Vanhoose and Rhonda Lesher presenting a short program on four years now of their grape and muscadine experimentation under Dr. Shiner. Program will lightly cover results over the past four years, propagation of grapes and also how to determine the sugar/solids content in the grape juice or the Brix reading. Discussion on how to preserve fresh grapes by converting some of them into grape juice or Wine!
