2018 Master Gardener Training Class 9

January 30, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Topic/s:
Home Fruit and Nut Production
Well established and properly maintained fruit plantings can be productive as well as beautiful in a home landscape. However, to be successful, most fruit crops require years of patient care and hard work.
Sharon Cowan will present her program on the home garden. This was originally scheduled for Feb. 6th. She will cover the basics on fertilizer, watering and weed control in the home garden, how to prepare the garden area/soils for setting in new transplants and various other aspects of growing garden/herb type crops for the home gardeners.

Keith Kridler will fill in the late program with growing plants under indoor and greenhouse conditions and also propagating/growing plants with the help of lights and or a controlled climate. We will cover some of the pests and diseases and catch up on questions that the students have about the first month of classes.
Light fare food will be served for the interns from 5:30 to 6:00pm
The syllabus is not up to date due to the uncertainty of our speakers and the flu.
