Carolyn became a certified Master Gardener in Travis County in 2000.

- Speakers’ Bureau (giving talks on various subjects in Travis County for many years)
- Advanced Landscape Design Certification
- Contributed to: “Garden Guide for Austin & Vicinity”, “Creating a Drought Resistant Garden in Central Texas”, and “From Drought to Deluge: The Resilient Central Texas Garden,” TCMGA garden books
- Created the idea of a teacher’s guide to gardening: “Broccoli to Butterflies School Garden Templates.” Implemented with Roxanne Smith
- Personal garden was on Inside Austin Garden Tour – Fall/2012
- Created butterfly garden & pizza garden for the State School for the Blind
- Created play area for Austin’s Children Shelter (The family’s masonry company donated all the stone, materials & labor for this project.)
- Member of TCMGA Inside Austin Garden Tour Committee since inception
- Sponsored TCMGA Inside Austin Garden Tour twice (Michael Williams Masonry, LLC)
- Member of TCMGA Greenhouse Committee
- Written numerous articles each year for the TCMGA newsletter, “Compost Bin”
