Brad served as the association president in 2008, 2010, and 2015. In 2009, he was named Outstanding Master Gardener in Texas.
Brad had advanced training in rainwater harvesting, which led to his instrumental planning and implementation of the Rainwater Harvesting demonstration at the Garden Learning Center (GLC) and the Forney Xeric Garden. He also worked with several high schools to implement rainwater harvesting at their campuses, such as Kemp, Scurry-Rosser, and Kaufman High School. Brad conducted several rainwater harvesting programs from 2009 to 2012 and helped with a greenhouse’s planning, construction, and wiring.
He was greatly involved with planning the GLC auxiliary gardens and was primarily responsible for planning and installing the drip irrigation system. He maintained equipment and drip lines at the GLC until his health prevented it. Brad left a lasting impact through his involvement in creating and maintaining a 5-year plan for the GLC.
