Purpose: This garden of four water trough containers demonstrates growing ornamental plants and herbs in containers. The container themes are: Red, White & Blue; Herbs; Plants for Pollinators; & Texas Superstars. Each plant is labeled with a digital QR Code tag which when scanned takes the user to detailed information about the plant. These container gardens also illustrate how to irrigate containers with micro-sprayers.
Citadel Christian School

Purpose: This school vegetable garden is located on the Brenham Christian Academy campus. The Bluebonnet Master Gardeners and the students plant, maintain and harvest the garden together. The students learn to prepare the soil, how to plant, how to properly maintain a vegetable garden and harvest the produce. Master Gardeners know that when kids get their hands in the dirt and participate growing vegetables and watch them grow, they are much more likely to eat vegetables they might otherwise shun.

Purpose: Educational seminars on various gardening topics delivered during lunchtime on the 1st Tuesday of each month, except June, July & August. Work needed includes arranging topics, speakers, set-up and clean-up. Read more…

Purpose: This school vegetable garden is located on the Christ Lutheran Day School campus.
