In March 2019 the executive director of the Body of Christ Community Clinic in Belton reached out to the Bell County Master Gardener Association Board of Directors for assistance with designing and installation of plants in a raised flower bed located in front of the Body of Christ Community Clinic in Belton. The Clinic, located on Holland Road in Belton, provides medical services for the underserved population in Belton and Salado.
Kerin Grimes, Elaine McSpedon and Stacye Parry provided a design for the bed that incorporated native plants and grasses with some of the already established plants.
Elaine McSpedon and Stacye Parry organized a “work day” for volunteers from the clinic to clean out the beds, fill them with new soil, and install the new plants. The materials for this project were all donated by Master Gardeners.
