It is always sad when one of our members moves away but it was doubly sad today when we gathered for a luncheon in the AgriLife Conference Room to say goodbye to two of our members, Laurel Cahill and Todd Cutting.
Laurel is leaving us to move back to her hometown in Ohio. She, her husband Dave and her mother June will be leaving in a couple of weeks.
Todd and his wife Charlotte will be moving back to Michigan at the end of the month.
Laurel has been an active member of the organization since 2015. She is a member of the Landscape committee and has worked very hard to help us keep the Coastal Oaks Demonstration Garden in tip top shape. She has served as both Plant Sale Chairman and Assistant Plant Sale Chairman. Her organizational abilities and public relation skills have been invaluable to the Master Gardeners.
Todd has been an active member of the organization since 2006. He is the Chairman of the Tree Team and one of the best help desk people we have ever had. It was pointed out at the luncheon that almost all of the answers to the questions phoned in by the public came from Todd. His horticultural knowledge is immense. He is well known in the community from his monthly visits about town checking on trees that local homeowners think are in need of help and giving them advice on what to do to help their trees.
We are going to miss both Laurel and Todd very much but want to wish them well in their new locations. Take care and stay warm.
