Pam Denson, a member of the Anderson County Master Gardener Association, was presented with the second place award for Outstanding Individual Master Gardener of the state in the small group category.
Pam has been instrumental in starting the Grow Your Own Garden Program which helps charities and individuals start a vegetable garden on their land. As a certified vegetable specialist, she has also started and continues with the vegetable garden program at Elkhart Elementary. The children receive hands-on experience gardening, and County Agent Holly Black teaches nutrition classes. Pam shares her knowledge by giving lectures to the community , garden clubs, other Master Gardener groups, and by contributing articles to the Palestine Herald. Pam also had an article, “Adventures in a School-Gardening Program” published in Texas Gardener.
According to County Agent Truman Lamb, “Pam Denson is a key player in the school gardener programs and is extremely knowledgeable. We are mighty proud to have Pam Denson on our team promoting Extension Awareness in Anderson County.”
