The Randall County Master Gardener Association is a non-profit educational and charitable organization working with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service to assist people in the surrounding communities through horticultural education. Program objectives are implemented through the training of area volunteers known as Texas Master Gardeners. We collaborate with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to provide youth and community education; establish and maintain demonstration gardens; and provide a speakers bureau. We work with special groups in the community including 4-H, horticultural clubs, the Junior Master Gardener program, schools, and other community outreach settings of a horticultural nature.
We recruit and educate new Master Gardener volunteers each year as a means of increasing our ability to reach out to the community to provide this educational service. In the process of assisting Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, our members enjoy fellowship with other gardeners, the joy of serving others, and the satisfaction that comes with being able to help our fellow Panhandle citizens with their questions about all aspects of gardening.
