Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service training provides El Paso Master Gardeners with research-based horticulture information and resources to augment their wide range of experiences in gardening in the El Paso. Certified Master Gardeners and Master Gardener Interns share that knowledge with members of the community who visit our Information Tables at many public events throughout the year. The Information Tables are also stocked with a wealth of free publications on topics ranging from composting to growing roses and tomatoes and landscape planning and design.
Information Booths at the Farmers’ Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing
El Paso Master Gardeners staff a booth during the summer at the Farmers’ Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing to provide information on gardening activities and to answer questions from the public. In addition to the usual wide-range of materials available on many gardening topics, our “Tidbits at the Booth” features handouts, monthly tips and recipes related to the “Garden Talks” held on the upper patio at 9:00 a.m. on several Saturdays throughout the summer. As produce becomes available in our Texas A&M AgriLife Vegetable Demonstration Gardens, we will sell tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and other vegetables.
Topics for this summer’s “Garden Talks” are lawn care, drip irrigation, container gardening, rainwater harvesting, good and bad insects, worm composting (vermiculture), and grilling fried green tomatoes.
We hope you’ll visit one of the Information Tables to learn more about gardening in El Paso and all about the Master Gardener Program.
