El Paso Master Gardeners are bringing their locally grown produce and Information Tables to you this summer on week days and at an easy to access location near Ascarate Park. Come to our Summer Vegetable Sales being held twice a month on the grassy area outside the El Paso County Tax Office on Manny Martinez Sr. Drive. As soon as the produce is harvested from our demonstration gardens we’ll be selling items such as tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and hot peppers (Big Jim and jalapeño). Purchases will be by cash and check, no credit cards.
While you’re there, let us know if you have any plant questions. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service training provides El Paso Master Gardeners with research-based horticulture information and resources to augment our wide range of experiences in gardening in the El Paso. You can feel confident asking us about your vegetable and ornamental plants as well as insects and horticultural practices. In addition, our Information Tables are stocked with a wealth of free publications on topics ranging from composting to growing roses and tomatoes.
Our upcoming Master Gardener training class starts this fall. If taking an intensive horticulture course, getting hands on experience, and volunteering to educate and serve the community in interesting and fun ways appeals to you, please talk with the Master Gardeners about this yearly opportunity.
Please come to see us on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in June, July, and August. We’ll add September to the schedule if our gardens still have vegetables to offer. We look forward to talking with you about your gardening concerns and answering your gardening questions.
