Everyone uses herbs in one way or another but once fresh herbs are discovered, you will never want to go back to buying that “stuff” from the grocery store.
Swing by our Herb garden and see all of the really great fresh herbs we have thanks to Cara Brooks and Gwen Clarke our Herb Bed Bedheads and the many other Master Gardeners that have helped them. Here in the mean time is a slide show of some of our herbs.

A favorite way to preserve the majority of these herbs is to dry them in the microwave. It is a quick, easy process.
1. Rinse herbs after gathering.
2. Make a sandwich: Plate, paper towel, herb twigs, paper towel. Microwave for 30 second intervals checking after each to be sure herbs are not burning. For herbs with tiny leaves, leave them on the stem until dry. Then strip them off of stems and store. Most herbs will dry in 2-3 minutes. Leaves that are thicker, such as sage, may take a minute or two more. Put in jars in a dark cabinet when completely dried and you will have herbs for the entire year. As with most things, they taste so much better than what you buy in the store. Shelf life is approximately one year for the best product. I have used them after this length of time and they were still good, but a year is a good standard.
