Master Gardeners have historically reached citizens in their local communities with horticulture information, but 2010 has set a new record of outreach. Master Gardeners Speakers Bureaus have become one of the greatest tools in which to disseminate best management practices for the homeowner. This year our volunteers delivered 2,360 presentations that reached 193,858 people. This is over 40,000 more attendees than in 2009. Master Gardeners also answered 41,342 phone calls, established or maintained 410 youth gardens and 261 demonstration gardens, and reached audiences with 47 websites.
Master Gardener volunteers are passionate about their work and their dedication shows through their loyal service. It is due to their great achievements that this program continues to be an excellent resource for citizens in Texas.
